Tina Matthews-Hayes
DNP, CRNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
FOUNDER, PRESIDENT, CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Experience
Dr. Tina Matthews-Hayes, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, began her medical career in cardiac intensive care at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where she spent five years supporting critically ill patients. While completing her graduate training, she transitioned into outpatient psychiatry, serving clients at Turtle Creek MH/MR and Western Psychiatric Clinic.
Over the next decade, Tina built deep roots in community psychiatry, spending 8 years with Western PA Behavioral Health Resources, where she led care teams as Clinical Supervisor. Her focus on equitable access, medication management, and provider education became the foundation of her patient-first philosophy.
Tina completed her doctoral work at Walden University and earned PMHNP certification at Regis College. Her academic research centered on pharmacogenomics in pediatric psychiatric care — a reflection of her dedication to evidence-based and individualized treatment approaches.
In 2022, she joined Seaside Behavioral Health in Virginia Beach, continuing her clinical work while also stepping into thought leadership. She became a national speaker with Allergan and Otsuka Pharmaceuticals, co-authoring publications on schizophrenia, ADHD, and bipolar treatment strategies.
In 2024, Tina founded Alis Family Psychiatry — a private practice rooted in compassion and science-backed care. Originally launched in Portland, Oregon, Alis expanded into Virginia Beach in 2025, marking a return to Tina’s home region with full independent ownership. Today, Alis provides trauma-responsive, neurodiversity-affirming care across two states, blending therapy, testing, and medication support under one collaborative vision.
In addition to her clinical leadership, Tina also serves as Program Director and Faculty for Carlow University’s PMHNP graduate program, mentoring the next generation of psychiatric nurse practitioners.
In her free time, Tina’s passions are her family and travel. She believes that raising her children as a working single parent was the hardest part of her journey and her proudest accomplishment is her children and who they have become today. She will explore Ghana this summer to host a vaccine clinic in Ghana in 2025. She brings warmth, compassion, dedication, and cheerful energy to her practice every day.

Fun Facts About The Team
Holly Santiago
I’m the one keeping Tina on track, making sure meetings are attended, medications are sent, and patient appointments are all lined up. When I’m not organizing the day-to-day, you’ll find me indulging in gummy candies (they’re my weakness!).
I’m all about those beachy, tropical vibes — especially when paired with great music. I like to travel whenever I can, especially if it means discovering a new playlist along the way.
Ric Singuillo
I’m a self-proclaimed dork at heart, always diving into books and learning new things.
But don’t let that fool you. I also love getting active with boxing, basketball, and hitting up a good weekend Valorant or NBA 2K25 session, all while enjoying a cold beer to unwind.
I’m all about trying new experiences, meeting new people, and finding the beauty in life. I believe we’re here to seek our purpose, and though it might sound cliché, I feel driven to work hard and reach my full potential so I can achieve my life’s mission.
Life is short, so I make it a point to experience it all to the fullest.
Joan Santos
A cat lover since age 4, Joan now shares her home with over 30 furry friends. She’s made a vow to only drink alcohol on her wedding night (and if that doesn’t happen, she’s staying alcohol-free for life!). While she likes to claim that flowers are "not practical" because they eventually wither, deep down—well, it’s not really a secret anymore—she secretly hopes someone will surprise her with one. And when it comes to horror or thriller movies? She’s never made it through one without covering her eyes for most of it!
Will Castillo
I’m all about collecting peaks and playlists! Whether I’m climbing mountains, cruising on a road trip, or dreaming of spontaneous adventures, I’m always chasing the next thrill. If I could, I’d probably spend every weekend exploring hidden trails or driving with no set destination
Just me, the open road, and a killer playlist. Adventure is my cardio, and every day feels like a new chance to explore the unknown.
Rey Magpantay
Proud furparent to two spoiled pups, I’m also a dark chocolate aficionado (55% or nothing!). By day, I’m a Dota 2 warrior, but by night, I’m singing and dancing to Lady Gaga like it’s my full-time job. Life’s all about balance, right?
Mary Ata
A chronic streamer with a love for true crime, comedy, and ancient history, I’m always diving into whatever random YouTube video catches my interest. I’m a big movie fan, but there’s something special about going to the cinema. It really helps me focus on the film. When I’m not watching Smosh or tuning into podcasts like Bad Friends, you’ll probably find me playing Sims 4. Behind the scenes, I assist with admin tasks and support our patients.
