Why I’m Expanding to Portland — and Still Holding Space for Virginia Beach

It all begins with an idea.

Hi friend,

If you’ve been walking this path with me, you know I don’t make big transitions lightly — especially ones that impact the people I care for most.

A year ago, I officially launched Alis Family Psychiatry in Oregon, to offer care that honors your story, your background, and the whole of who you are.
At the same time, I was also providing care in Virginia Beach, where I’ve served patients over the past few years as a contracted provider.

Now, I’m taking the next big step:
I’m opening a fully independent Virginia Beach branch of Alis Family Psychiatry.

Why This Move Matters
This isn’t about leaving something behind — it’s about bringing everything full circle.
While Oregon was the birthplace of Alis, Virginia Beach has long been a meaningful part of my clinical journey.

After several years of offering care within another local practice, I’ve decided to create a dedicated Alis Family Psychiatry location in Virginia Beach — giving patients access to the same mission-driven, heart-centered care I’ve offered in the Pacific Northwest.

What This Means for You
• You can continue your care with me at Alis Family Psychiatry, Virginia Beach.
• We’ll offer both in-person and telehealth options to meet your needs.
• If you’ve seen me locally before, this will be a seamless continuation of your care — just under the Alis name and with a few more personalized touches.

We’re also planning to expand our service offerings to include family medicine support, building integrative care options in Virginia Beach and Oregon in the future. Our goal? To treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

Same Mission, New Chapter

At its core, Alis Family Psychiatry remains guided by the same values that inspired it from day one:
• Compassionate, inclusive care
• A safe space for healing and growth
• Accessible support that evolves with your life

Whether you’re in Oregon, Virginia Beach, or anywhere in between, I’m honored to walk this journey with you.

With care,
Tina Matthews-Hayes, DNP, CRNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Founder, Alis Family Psychiatry ❤️

Your Questions, Answered: What the Bi-Coastal Expansion Means for You

It all begins with an idea.

Hi again,

Since launching my solo practice in Virginia Beach and continuing care in Portland, Oregon, many of you have reached out with heartfelt questions — and I’m so glad you did.
This post is here to offer clarity and reassurance, whether you're a current client or considering care with us for the first time.

💬 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will I still be able to meet with Tina if I’m based in Virginia Beach?
A: Absolutely. I now offer care through my own solo practice — Alis Family Psych Virginia Beach — with hybrid care available: both virtual sessions and in-person visits throughout the year. If you’re local, we can meet face-to-face. If not, we can stay connected virtually.

Q: I’m a new client in Portland — when can I book a session?
A: I’ve been seeing clients in Portland for over a year. I’m actively accepting new appointments.

Q: Will this affect your availability or scheduling?
A: Nope. I adjust my schedule to support clients in both locations. If you’re already working with me, we’ll continue to find a rhythm that supports your needs.

Q: Do I need to do anything differently if I'm already a client?
A: Nope again — you're all set. If you’re an existing client, nothing changes for you. If anything does shift, I’ll communicate it clearly and directly.

Q: What if I move between states — can I still work with you?
A: Yes, in most cases. I’m licensed in multiple states and offer virtual care across state lines. Let’s talk about your location and make sure it’s all aligned.

Q: How do I contact you if I have more questions?
A: You can reach out here via our contact page, or email me directly at alisfamilypsychteam@hushmail.com. I’m always happy to help. I’m always happy to help.

🌿 Final Thought

This season has brought some exciting changes, but my mission remains the same:
to make care more human, more grounded, and more accessible — no matter where you are.

Thank you for trusting me with your story.

With care,

From Virginia Beach to Portland: A New Chapter for Alis Family Psych

It all begins with an idea.

Hi there!

Big changes, same heart.
After years of providing care in Virginia Beach, I’m excited to share that I’ve officially opened my own private practice — Alis Family Psychiatry — right here in the community I’ve long served. Over the past year, I’ve also been offering care in Portland, Oregon, and I’m thrilled to announce that Alis is now a bi-coastal practice proudly rooted in both cities.

This isn’t just a move — it’s a meaningful evolution in how I show up for the people I serve.
Virginia Beach has been home to countless beautiful connections and courageous conversations. The brave transformations I’ve witnessed in my patients have deeply inspired the expansion of this practice. That foundation remains unchanged.

Every patient deserves — and is entitled to — the same high standard of care.
That principle remains the heart of everything we do at Alis.

What does this mean for you?

Whether you’re continuing care in Virginia Beach or connecting with me from Portland, you now have the choice of hybrid sessions based on your preferences and needs. This flexibility allows us to stay connected in the way that works best for you, without compromising quality or continuity of care.

Here’s the short version:

Virginia-based clients: I’ll continue offering hybrid scheduling throughout the year. New physical location - same great grey chair 😅
Oregon-based clients: Business as usual - nothing has changed.
If you’re a current client, you don’t need to worry — your care will remain uninterrupted.
And if you’re new here, welcome. There’s space for you, too.
Thank you for trusting me with your stories. This expansion isn’t just about geography — it’s a deepening of my commitment to making current evidence based medication management more accessible, tailored to you, and more rooted in real relationships.

See you soon — wherever you are.

Warmly,
Tina Matthews-Hayes, DNP, CRNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
